Simplex was an American car company located in New York and means simple in latin.
Simplex’s production numbers very very low due to their specialized product line, and in 1912, was sold after the death of its founder. It was sold to new owners in 1914 and went on to produce cars under the Crane-Simplex brand until 1917, when it entered war production and stopped making cars.
