Kurogane vehicles were produced in Tokyo from 1935 to 1962.
Kurogane Kokusan Co., Ltd. (くろがね工業株式会社) — a pioneering Japanese manufacturer of vehicles and military machinery was founded in 1935.
Famous for producing the Kurogane Type 95 Scout Car, the world’s first mass-produced 4WD military vehicle (predating the American Jeep). It was used extensively by the Imperial Japanese Army during WWII.
After the war, the company produced civilian vehicles but later merged into Tōkyū Kurogane Kōgyō, and its automotive branch eventually disappeared.
The company was purchased by Ohta Motors.
