About the Author.
David H. Kinney, ASA, is a senior member of the American Society of Appraisers, and also serves on the Society's Board of Governors. He is the owner of USAppraisal in Great Falls Virginia, an automotive appraisal firm he founded in 1991. Kinney is also a well-known automotive journalist, with columns in both AUTOMOBILE and the British enthusiast publication Octane. His work frequently appears in Sports Car Market Magazine, and he is a regular contributor to The New York Times automobile section. Kinney is also the host of a television program, Collector Car Auction, which is currently running on the Fine Living channel. Cars That Matter, published three times a year, is the result of both his lifelong passion for automobiles as well as a practical application of his knowledge and experience.
