The idea of the 911 starts taking shape with the T7, designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche and becomes a milestone towards the path to the 911.

1959 Porsche Typ 754 T7.

But because company head Ferry Porsche is opposed to a full-fledged four-seater, the T7 never goes into production.

He ultimately accepts a modified version with spare seats - a two-plus-two seater, which doesn't interfere with the fastback design, a must for the Porsche silhouette.
