Hisashi Saito was born in Aomori Prefecture in 1936. After working for a trading company in 1960 he became an independent freelance illustrator.
Hestarted working with Olympus Camera technical illustrations, then did more for Cannon, Nissan, Mitsubishi, TDK, and Asahi Pentax then off to Honda.
He began working with wild birds and in 1980 published his first calendar "Wild Birds, Hisashi Saito's World". He continued to make calendars for the next 15 years and in 1990, his work shifted more towards nature.
The mechanical illustrations shown here appeared in Honda catalogs and advertisements.
