Porsche is one of the most valuable brands in the world—so says the British Consulting agency Millward Brown Optimor in its BrandZ Top 100 ranking, in which Porsche occupies third place on the list of top carmakers.

The value of the brand has increased 62 percent over the previous year, from $13.37 billion (40th place) to $21.72 billion. Millward Brown Optimor analyzes the value of some 50,000 brands, using Bloomberg financial data and customer surveys.
For each company, they calculate the share that the brand as such contributes to the company’s business result, and how fast that brand value is growing. Porsche achieved top scores—first and second place, respectively—in these two categories. In the cross-industry comparison of the internationally most popular brands, Porsche ranked 28th.
