After the death of T. Parry (1927) in an accident during a new high-speed record attempt, the R. Railton Arab Motors Ltd closed. He later designed suitable vehicles for J. Cobb and Sir M. Campell.

His Railton Mobile Special achieved the record of 634,386 km/h in 1947 which was outbid in the sixties.
